Carole Landis Out Of The Blue

In 1947 Carole had a supporting role in the ensemble comedy Out Of The Blue. She played Mae Earthleigh, a housewife who bosses her husband around and causes trouble for her neighbors. This is the only film she made at Eagle-Lion Studios. Carole liked the script and said it was a "cute story". She received 5th billing in the credits. The cast includes George Brent (as Mae's husband), Virginia Mayo, Ann Dvorak, Turhan Bey. Elizabeth Patterson, and Julia Dean. Out Of The Blue was directed by Leigh Jason.

It was filmed at Eagle-Lion Studios in Hollywood from February 25 until April 5, 1947. Carole's costumes were designed by her close friend Don Loper. She decided to go back to her natural brown hair for this role. Out Of The Blue was released on April 21, 1947. Unfortunately most of the publicity for the film focused on Virginia Mayo. The movie was a modest hit and got some positive reviews. Louella Parsons said "It's saucy, sexy, and spicy with a solid story on which to base it's chucklesome nonsense".
